Hello, My name is Whittney Rains and I teach Family and Consumer Science at Northview HS.  I graduated from Indiana State University with an education degree in FACS. I taught in Vigo County for 5 years, and this is my 6^th yr. in Clay Community school corp.

I teach Nutrition and Wellness and Culinary Arts. I also teach Adult Roles, and Personal Financial Responsibilities. My classes are all electives and include freshmen through senior students. I enjoy teaching my students real-world concepts, and basic life skills. In the foods classes I teach basic measuring skills, and quick and easy recipes the students can recreate at home. In all of my courses I try to prepare the students to be independent, productive citizens.

On a personal note, I was born and raised here in Brazil and have lived here all of my life. My husband Matt and I have two children Callie and Carter that both attend School in Clay County. I love living and teaching here and believe that small town values are very important.
