• Lundy Enters 1,000 Point Club for Two Sports

    By: Sophia Buell

Jenny Lundy, senior at Northview High School, joined the 1,000 Point Club for the second time on Tuesday night at a home basketball game against Cascade High School. Jenny was already a member when she scored 1,000 points during this year’s volleyball season. She is now the only person in Northview school history to have ever scored a thousand points in more than one sport. When interviewed about the accomplishment, this is what Lundy had to say:

Q: “How does it feel to be in the 1,000 Point Club for both volleyball and basketball?”

A: “To be honest, I didn’t know that there was a 1,000 Point Club for volleyball,” Lundy explained while laughing, “So when I got that, it was extremely rewarding.”

Q: “For basketball, was it always a goal to be in the 1,000 Point Club?”

A: “Well whenever I was younger, I remember watching Makayla Rowen score her 1,000 points and thinking that that was exactly what I wanted to do when I got to high school. However, I was out for quite awhile in a couple of seasons due to injury and I wasn’t really sure if I would be able to make my thousands points, like I had wanted to.”

Q: “So how did it feel when you scored your final shot for the thousand points?”

A: “I was just so happy. I remember turning around and being swarmed by my teammates and we were all jumping and hugging one another. And, to be honest, it was such a great moment to share because I really couldn’t have done it without my teammates.”

Q: “Do you have any other goals for the remainder of your basketball season?”

A: “Yes, I want to win a regional title with my team this year. We won sectionals my sophomore year, and with the team we have this year, I really think we could win the regionals.

Jenny Lundy plans on leading the team home with a regional win this year. The Knight’s WIC crossover will  be held at home Friday, January 18th and then sectionals start at home Tuesday, January 29th.
