    Dear Parents:

As you well know, Covid-19 has interfered and disrupted many aspects of our daily lives.  This certainly includes the lives of your children and our students!  As the pandemic evolves, seemingly on a daily basis, new information, requirements, etc. are issued by local, state, and federal agencies.  The most recent of these was delivered yesterday afternoon as an Executive Order (EO) 21-24 by Governor Holcomb.

Although somewhat difficult to digest all the information in EOs, the major implication for public schools from yesterday’s EO involved some lessening of quarantining requirements:

    •  Students who are close contacts are not required to quarantine if the student(s) testing positive for Covid-19 and the students who were close contacts were wearing masks. (Students who have someone in their own household who has tested positive would still need to quarantine.)
    • Students who test positive or are symptomatic will need to isolate.

Please know that I earnestly feel for the many challenges you, your family, and your children are facing at the present time.  Know too that I greatly appreciate the patience and understanding, even on topics of disagreement, that you have shown CCS and its employees.  We will get through all of this together.

If you have any questions about this information, the CCS Reentry Plan, and/or other Covid-19-related issues, please contact your child’s school.

    Sincerely,

    Jeffery D. Fritz

    CCS Superintendent

  • Dear Parents and All –

Greetings from Clay City Jr./Sr. High School! We have had a great start to the 2021-2022 school year and are confident it will be another great one! Our students will continue to attain and enjoy success in the classroom and in a vast array of extracurricular activities. Our Students, Faculty, Staff, and Community have done a GREAT job at handling all of the obstacles that the past 18 months have provided! Clay City Jr./Sr. High School has earned an “A” Letter Grade from the Indiana Department of Education in past years, and we are extremely proud of our graduation rate of 98%! Our curriculum represents a vast array of educational opportunities for our students, including both A.P. and Dual Credit Courses. Our “APEX Program” helped students earn 193 credits last year, and our students earned 489 Dual (College) Credits! These numbers continue to grow each year! “Respectful – Responsible – Honest – Successful.” We are very proud of our students’ achievements in the classroom, testing, and in their preparation to become successful in their chosen fields beyond high school. They will “Keep The Train Rollin’!” Several students and organizations have earned distinction as part extracurricular activities at our school. Our J.E.T.S./T.E.A.M.S. students have earned State and National honors, S.T.E.M./Robotics students have won the Ivy Tech “COB/COG Competition” the past two years of competition and “Autonomous Vehicle Challenge” Competition at Rose Hulman (National honors), and students representing our F.C.C.L.A., B.P.A., and F.F.A. Chapters have earned State and National honors. Our Imperial Regiment is back, and our Pep Band is one of the best in the state. Clay City Jr./Sr. High School has earned the honor of being named a “School of Character” by the I.H.S.A.A. for seven consecutive years, leading the State of Indiana!
