The staff sets high academic and behavioral standards for the students. In addition to the corporation curriculum, the students participate in the Shurley Method Language Program and the Jackson Township Elementary Character Education Program. The Shurley Method provides concentrated English instruction to the students on a daily basis. The Character Education Program was developed and personalized for the school. Thirty-three character qualities are reinforced through daily lessons and displays in the hallways and the cafeteria.
Historically, JTE's standardized test scores have been well above the state average. Even though our students continue to do very well, the staff is constantly striving to improve. Much time is spent analyzing test data and teaching strategies and methods. I am very proud of the students' and staff members' accomplishments and appreciate their desire to excel.
The active and supportive PTO and the involvement of the parents are welcomed and appreciated. The working relationship of all the stakeholders provides a family atmosphere at the school.
