My name is Paul Harbour. I am a Highly Qualified English teacher who is licensed for grades 6-12. I am proficient in how to educate others in the subject of English, Writing, and Literature. I also have a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership. Lastly, I have my Administrator’s License for K-12 schools.
I came to education late in life after working as a Journeyman Carpenter. This enables me to look at education through private and public lenses.
I trust educational research. Therefore, I am a strong proponent of Best Practices for all aspects of Education from the management of students to instructional methods to grading practices. I believe that there is opportunity at every turn.
It is important to me to show every student that I care about them as people as I teach them the wonderful things about literature and writing.
My wife, Jennie, teaches at North Clay as well; we have been married since 2009. Our combined family includes three boys and one girl (all adults) as well as two cats and a labradoodle. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, outdoor sports, watching The Office, wood-carving, and knife-making.
